AimsThe objectives of the Branch are to foster interest in family history and help others to commence their research journey. HistoryBeaudesert Branch was formed after an inaugural meeting in 1980 with 10 members. Meetings were held initially in private homes until October 1995 when our rooms were officially opened with representation from GSQ. Our membership may only be small, but we are enthusiastic. MeetingsThe meetings of the Branch are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month (except December) at 15A William Street, Beaudesert, from 10am. The meeting format involves normal business and a problem solving discussion, followed by research time in the library. Guest speakers are sometimes invited. LibraryThe Branch's library at 15A William Street is open 10am to 2pm every Wednesday. Resources include Australian births, deaths and marriages, IGI microfiche, local family histories, local cemetery records, magazines and research books. NewsletterThe Branch does not produce its own publication, but maintains close ties with the Historical Society of Beaudesert and has a subscription with that Society's newletter Smoke Signal.
