AimsThe objectives of North Brisbane Branch (the Branch) of the Genealogical Society of Queensland (the Society) is to service the needs of members of GSQ who live in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, to assist non-members in their research and encourage their membership. HistoryNorth Brisbane Branch was formed in 1979. Over the past 30 years, the Branch has acquired a substantial library to help members with their research. MembershipAll members of the Branch are full members of the Society. MeetingsBranch meetings are held on 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month (except January and December). Doors open from 6.30pm for members research and the meetings commence at 7.30pm. There is a guest speaker at most meetings on 2nd Monday and a general meeting on 4th Monday. Meetings are held at the North Brisbane Branch library at the North Area Scout Centre, 23 Sicklefield Street, Alderley (near the Pickering Street and Raymont Road intersection). LibraryThe Branch has a substantial library of reference books as well as BMD indexes, electoral rolls, and other family history records on microfiche and CD. The library, at the above address, is available for members' use on the 2nd and 4th Monday nights. Members may borrow books, CDs and microfiche for a small fee. NewsletterThe Branch publishes a newsletter, The North Brisbane News, every three months. It is sold for $1.00.
