QSA News

Queensland State Archives regularly receives new records into its collection from various public authorities. New series, and major additions to existing series of records, are identified in a monthly publication qsa-bulletin. This publication also advises researchers of QSA events and news.

SLQ News

The State Library of Queensland publishes a monthly newsletter, slqnews, which gives regular updates on news and events at the State Library. Also, see the What's On page for coming events.

National Archives

The monthly newsletter of the National Archives of Australia keeps you up to date with what's happening. It features news on our events and tips for researching their collection.

Inaugural Short Story Competition | Print |

GSQ is running a short story competition, to encourage our members to write their family history. Full details of this Competition are in the December issue of Generation. The topic for 2011 is to be A Short Story from your Family History Research and all financial members of GSQ are eligible to enter without charge. Non-members may enter for a fee of $10.

 

The length of the story is to be a maximum of 2500 words and the closing date is 7 May 2011. Conditions are:

  • The story must not have been previously published.
  • Multiple stories can be entered (non-members pay an entry fee for each entry)
  • Entrants must agree to the story/ies being published in Generation and on the GSQ website on request.
  • Entries submitted by email must be in Word or Word compatible format. Font is to be Arial 12 or Times New Roman 12 with double line spacing.
