Description

The Essential Guide to Starting your Family Research

An introductory course which covers:

  • Introduction to family history/genealogy
  • Building blocks of research
  • Civil registration
  • Census records
  • Parish records
  • Immigration

Presenters are experienced researchers and the focus is primarily on Australian and UK research, including Ireland and Scotland. They refer to a wide range of resources, both on microform, CD and the internet. They are able to provide general guidance on researching in other countries. The notes are extensive and provide a valuable resource to refer to after the classes.

Cost:    $50.00 for members and $55.00 for non-members
            (includes notes and morning and afternoon teas)
