How can you help us? | Print |

GSQ has some exciting projects underway and we need your help.

Like most family history societies, we rely on our volunteers and we need members or interested individuals to help with the following tasks:

  • Transcribing from microfiche, which can either be done at home or in our East Brisbane Resource Centre. We will provide a comprehensive manual explaining the transcription format and process; as well as a fiche reader (limited quantities) if required.
  • Data entry into a computer database, for which we will provide details of the software and database definition and a comprehensive manual showing how the information is to be entered into the database.
  • Microfilm of records, which must be done using our microfilm camera in the workroom at the Resource Centre. We will provide full training and ongoing support on the use of the camera.

Full hands on instruction for all aspects of our projects will be provided for all volunteers.

If you only have a few hours to spare each week or each month, we still need your help. If you haven't done anything like this before, please don't hesitate to ask how you can help.

For further information, contact Projects Co-ordinator, Christine Smith, on Wednesday or Friday at the GSQ Resource Centre, or by phone (07)3891 5085 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
