The Genealogical Society of Queensland's mission is 'helping to discover your family history'.   It specialises in family history in the Australian state of Queensland.

The Society of Queensland was formed in May 1978 and is affiliated with organisations which represent family history societies in Queensland, in the whole of Australia and New Zealand, and the British Isles.

GSQ is staffed by volunteers whose role is to provide assistance and support to members and visitors; and to undertake projects designed to add to the body of resources available to family historians in Queensland.
