Computer Interest Group November Seminar
Family Tree Programs Compared
|
Family Tree maker vs Legacy
|
|
On Sunday 12 th November 2006 the Computer Interest Group
presented a seminar on the various Family Tree Programs that
are available.
The title of the day was “Family Tree Maker vs Legacy” and
these two programs were showcased as examples of what programs
can do and how each is different. |
 |
 |
Paul demonstrated how each program could be
used to:
- Store and Organise all data gathered in research;
- Document Sources, Comments or Qualifications for information;
- Store, Organise and Edit electronic files; and
- Display or Share your information in Reports, Books, Charts,
Web Pages or GEDCOM
|
His personal likes and dislikes were also discussed.

It was interesting to see how FTM could display information
on its own inbuilt maps.
We also saw how Google Earth could be used to show where our
ancestors lived. |
