Colonial and Convict Connections was formed in 1995 as an Interest Group operating within the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc., and brings together members who are researching their convict and early colonial past.

With this common interest we are able to assist one another as we delve further into our early Australian ancestry – and beyond, whether it be back to England or Ireland or a British colonial out-post. The sharing and exchanging of research information between members has been extremely beneficial.

The GSQ resource room is made available to us from 9am to 3pm on the second Sunday of every second month. In return, we raise funds to purchase new records relating to the convict and colonial era. Such records include books, microfiche, microfilm and CD’s – and are available for the use by all GSQ members at the Resource Centre.

We are available to answer any enquires you may have about membership, meetings, our newsletter, the content on this website or about genealogy in general.
