Finding Tasmanian Records

During this presentation Helen will show you how to access Tasmanian online genealogy records for researching ancestry, family history and genealogy. Birth, marriage, death, census, church, military, immigration and naturalisation records will all be explored.  Additionally, you will learn how to access Tasmanian archives and original documents and published resources.

Presenter:  Helen Connor

Helen is fascinated with history and addicted to family history.  She has been researching her Australian, New Zealand, Irish, Scottish and English ancestors for over thirty years.  Helen has recently completed the Society of Australian Genealogists’ Certificate of Genealogical Research and is undertaking the Diploma in Family History from the University of Tasmania.  Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours and a Master’s Degree in Health Policy (by research).  Helen has presented on a variety of topics for the Society at the Brisbane City Council libraries.  Helen aims to use her knowledge to help others learn more about genealogical research methods, record collections and techniques so that they can then investigate the history of their own family.
