Judy has been a member of the Genealogical Society since 2006 and has researched her family in Australia, England and the USA and her husband’s in England and New Zealand. Her particular skills are using computers for family history. The talks she presents are Exploring Ancestry.com, Using FamilySearch.org, Choosing a Family Tree Program, Using Google for Family History, Exploring FindMyPast.com.au, Queensland family history online, Introduction to Family History, Using Newspapers for Family History, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: how family history is changing and Did you discover that your ancestors spent time in a workhouse? She has been giving talks in the BCC libraries since 2012.
Other presentations she has given at the Genealogical Society are Photo Restoration, Using X-Book to make a digital photobook for family history, Exploring Genuki.org, Using The Genealogist.co.uk, YouTube: Education for genealogists, history for genealogists and other interesting bits, Did my ancestors wear pink dresses to afternoon tea-using newspapers for family history.
Before retiring Judy worked for Brisbane City Council as a chemist in the water laboratory and before that as an analytical chemist in the Department of Primary Industries.
