GSQ would like to invite anyone interested in Genealogical Research to attend the
2nd and 4th Wednesday nights, via Zoom
If you cannot get to GSQ; or working during the day; unable to attend the other Zoom meetings; and just want a bit of help with your research, then the Wednesday nights might be just what you are looking for.
The 4th Wednesday of the month is for a Guest Speaker to talk in relation to specific topics, or it is a DNA Clinic.
This Wednesday will be
Janice Cooper, talking about – Petitions in Colonial Secretary’s Correspondence.
In colonial Queensland, petitions were a very popular means for ordinary people to make known their objections and concerns.
This talk will demonstrate how useful they are for family historians exploring their early Queensland family history,
as well as outline how to use Queensland State Archives’ registers to find petitions sent from community members from across the state.
Janice Cooper is an experienced local and family historian who primary family history interest is her Australian ancestry since 1791. With an academic background in Australian history, she is interested in placing families in their communities and historic times. A professional historian, her publications include local history books, articles in general and family history magazines/ezines and a local area website.
Come and join us on Zoom.
Please send your name, email and any questions to email@example.com so that a link to the Wednesday night meeting can be sent to you.
