GSQ’s flagship course Introduction to Family History provides participants with the foundations for undertaking their own research into their family history. Topics to be covered include:

  • Introduction to genealogy/family history/GSQ
  • Parish Records
  • Civil Registration (BMDs)
  • Census Records
  • Immigration
  • Help and Guidance

The course focuses on research in Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland but Janice can provide guidance on research in other regions if required. Participants need to bring their own lunch, a notebook and a USB stick if they wish to stay to do further research using GSQ’s resources including subscription databases. Janice will be available to assist participants with their individual research.

Presented by Janice Wellard who has over 30 year’s experience using records from Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and the United States.
