Republic of Ireland

National Library of Ireland - The National Library of Ireland is Ireland's national library located in Dublin, in a building designed by Thomas Newenham Deane.

General Register Office of Ireland - The General Register Office (Oifig An Ard-Chláraitheora) is the central repository for records relating to Births, Deaths and Marriages in Ireland.

National Archives of Ireland - The National Archives holds the records of the modern Irish State which document its historical evolution and the creation of our national identity.

Channel Islands

The Channel Islands Family History Society - The backbone of family history is in the old church registers of baptisms, marriages and burials. Jersey members of CIFHS have been busy over the years, on a voluntary basis, transcribing and indexing all these local registers and making these indexes freely available to all.

Channel Islands Government - They are dependent territories of the English Crown, as successor to the Dukes of Normandy. The Channel Islands have two main administrative units, or Bailiwicks, of Jersey and Guernsey.


Isle of Man

Isle of Man Family History Society - The Isle of Man Family History Society was formed in January 1979 to encourage the study of genealogy and family history, particularly within the Isle of Man.

Isle of Man Parish Records - Although by 1538 the Manx Church had come under York, the first parish registers date from 1598 - the earliest being that of Ballaugh followed shortly afterwards by Jurby and Michael.
