GSQ offers courses and presentations for people who are just beginning their family history research, for those unsure about what to do next and for those who are ready to move into more detailed areas of research. We aim to provide something for everyone.

For details of the courses planned, see here. This page shows a course description, costs, and the course timetable.

All courses and presentations will be held at the GSQ Resource Centre at 38 Fisher Street, East Brisbane.

Courses and presentations may be repeated at different times subject to demand. Class times may need to be changed subject to the availability of presenters.

Introductory classes are generally restricted to no more than 20 people to ensure that there is sufficient time to provide class members with the assistance they require to become independent researchers. Guidance will be provided throughout the course on how to access the wide range of resources available within the GSQ Library and on-line.

At least one Saturday Session is provided each month, with a variety of topics of interest to members. They usually run for two hours and involve a guest speaker.

The cost of the course depends upon its length. Full notes are provided where relevant, and advice and guidance is offered by the presenters.

How to enrol:

  • Book and pay online, using the secure PayPal system (provide link to GSQ Shop category)
  • Fill in an application form and post to GSQ with your cheque or credit card details (link to application form?)
  • Telephone GSQ on 3891 5085 to book and leave your credit card details
