Family History Technology Group 2024

May 12 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM AEST

The Family Tree Maker and Legacy Groups have been amalgamated into one Special Interest Group.
This is now known as “Family History Technology Special Interest Group”.
The Family History Technology Group will meet on the 2nd Sunday of every odd month, at 10am – 12pm.
Currently via Zoom

The new group gives opportunities to look at many other technologies that may help to preserve and publish your family history data. This group is only open to GSQ members.

These may include but not limited to:

  • File management and storage
  • E-publishing
  • Setting up a Family History website.

May 12th 2024 with Ray Lockett.

Storytelling with sound and pictures for family Historians – Techniques and Tools

Ray has made scores of story sequences using images, music, sounds and test. He uses the affordable, popular, and intuitive image sequencer P2E AV Studio which produces a customizable video output. P2E is quick and easy due to its “multiple timeline” editor which blends stills, movies and sound files using a graphical engine. Users can rely on support from both the makers and a large user forum.

Ray will show traditional and novel ways you can dramatize a family story – whether you have a wealth of photos and interview material, or simply a single photograph.

We will discuss new tools utilising AI which can make tasks so much easier: –

  1. NARRATION (Text to speech) using off-the-shelf voice, own voice, or cloned relative’s voice!
  2. TRANSCRIPTION (Speech to text) of an audio recorded interview allowing easy searching!

Should you have any questions or concerns please email Ailsa Corlett and Helen Connor on FHTech@gsq.org.au

Look forward to seeing you there.
