Colonial and Convict Connections is a Special Interest Group of the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc. (www.gsq.org.au). We meet on the second Sunday in February, April, June, August, October and December.

Members of GSQ are welcome to join us on these days between 9am and 4pm. Our meeting is held at 11 am with time set aside for answering queries about your research and introducing a topic for discussion.  The many resources at GSQ are available for you to consult.

We are interested in the colonial era which, of course, spans the convict era, but also includes the soldiers, government officials, and free settlers. In recent years, some groups have even had limited success with the identification of indigenous people mentioned in historic documents.

So, if you too are interested in the colonial era, please feel free to attend our Colonial and Convict Connections Sundays. Contact convictconnections@gsq.org.au

Qld Family and Local History Conference and Fair - Waves in Time - 24-26 May 2019

They attended the Conference and Fair held at Kawana Waters and were kept busy with enquiries from many people interest in researching their convicts. We had a couple of new recruits to help with manning the tables and they donned their convict shirts and bonnets to splendidly adorn our corner of the exhibit hall.

Colonial and Convict Connections produce their own newsletter - "The Chronicle"  of which you can subscribe to.  Example is Attached.
