A history of the Emu Plains convict farm established by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1819.
This history outline the 13 years of the farm and goes into detail about its place in the history of the NSW convict system.
The author’s intention for the book was to give readers and researchers an idea of what life was life for not only the convicts (who were NOT chained), but their overseers and the superintendents.
The book includes a list of close to 2000 convict names with more than 40 biographies
