This brief account lists all of the Governors and the Caretakers – from the arrival of Governor Phillip in January 1788 the end of the Governorship of Sir William Denison in January 1861.
Some of these men were in office for only a short time and our knowledge of some may be sadly lacking, but all played an important role in our early history.
